First BANS Sales
Before I go into the sales I just wanted to mention the stats so far from my directory submitting. Ive submitted to 522 and already listed in 48. The 62 failed is because I suck at captchas and I bypassed 20 because no appropriate category. Luckily though most directories will have a category for [pay]Shopping -> Antiques and Collectibles[/pay] which is perfect for [pay]Bayonet Collectibles[/pay]
Listed: 48
Success: 522
Failed: 62
Bypassed: 20
On with the money. In total I spent $19 on Adwords while I was testing it out and I shut it off yesterday. If you didn’t know it takes some time for CJ to show eBay commissions because you get paid when they win the auction or they sign up. You can refer someone and they bid on something but wont win it for a week. Surprisingly enough though I actually got 1 signup and a few sales.
This was all done with about [pay]200[/pay] unique visitors to the site.

Still only working with the site [pay]Bayonet Collectibles[/pay] even though I found 4 more sites to make and have the domains already. Going to finish the first one before I start the others.
Here is my plan for each BANS site that I make.
1. Submit the site to as many social bookmarking sites that I can. Probably around 75.
2. Directory submissions and article submissions. I will use digiXMAS Article Submitter for both of these. This will get me around 1500 directory submissions and 500 article submissions.
That is it! After that I will wait awhile and should start seeing some traffic come in since Im targeting low competition keywords.
So far Ive done around 25 bookmarks and 500 directories. This gets boring after awhile so I need to spread it out.

Since there are NO ads for the keyword [pay]bayonet[/pay] I thought I would run a adwords campaign to test out the traffic and also to get a peek at the keywords people are searching for. After about 10 minutes I couldnt get the CPC below 20 cents so I said screw it and ran it anyways. Was only going to be for a few days so I didn’t care about losing money or not.
Most likely I will cut it off after $20 even if I made money from it. This is just a test!

One of the types of sites I am going to start making is through BANS. If you haven’t heard of that yet then its basically a eBay affiliate store script. Its simple to install and customizable just like wordpress.
The first site I made is [pay]Bayonet Collectibles[/pay]. The reason I choose the site is due to its searches per day, competition, and the item sells on eBay. Let me cover how I determined that real quick.
Here are the steps to finding a niche
1. Go to eBay are start browsing through the categories. What your looking for are items that are not that common and when you sort by “Time: Ending Soonest” the items actually have bids. Really, who cares if you drive a bunch of traffic to eBay for products no one buys.
2. After you found one then head to your favorite keyword research tool. Mine is Keyword Discovery (the paid version). Now what you are obviously checking for is searches per day and checking to see if there are other related keywords with a bunch of searches.
3. When you found a good one ALWAYS back it up with another tool. You want to make sure you get consistent results. The tool at DigitalPoint is probably your best place to check next.
4. At this step you should have a good keyword that will receive good traffic. If you don’t start over at step 1!
5. Who cares if you have a great keyword if your never going to get any traffic for it. This is where we check the competition. There are a few ways to do this and Ill show you them. Just head to google and do the following searches.
“keywords”
allintitle:”keywords”
allinanchor:”keywords”
Where the qoutes are you actually type them in. What the first one does is check the number of web pages on the internet that contain that exact phrase. I would shoot for under 50,000 if you don’t want to do a bunch of work. The lower the number the better. Allintitle looks for those keywords that are just in the title tags and allinanchor looks for it in anchor texts. If you find one below 5,000 then it will be very easy to rank for those keywords with some SEO.
6. Next step is getting the domain. Just pick something with the keywords and then something at the end. I always try to just to the keyword then a 3 letter word. The shorter it is the more easy it is to remember.
After you go through all those steps then you are good to go and you can start building your BANS.
Then of course many smaller ones. If you look on my site on the right column you will see the main keywords I am targeting that I added special searches for. Below are some of them.
[pay]German Bayonet[/pay]
[pay]Garand Bayonet[/pay]
[pay]Mauser Bayonet[/pay]
[pay]Civil War Bayonet[/pay]
[pay]Japanese Bayonet[/pay]
[pay]M1 Bayonet[/pay]
[pay]M4 Bayonet[/pay]
[pay]M7 Bayonet[/pay]
[pay]M9 Bayonet[/pay]
My next step is start building links!

Well if you visited my site before you will see that all the old content is gone and I have done a complete redesign of the site. Before my site was just about SEO and different methods. Well I got to the point where I posted all the general information along with some of my tips and tricks which were very popular (may repost the popular ones again). After that it became really boring for me because the only stuff I didn’t post were methods that will get you penalized. Frankly speaking, white hat SEO is extremely basic and theres really nothing to it. Got bored, moved on.
Now I decided to start April 2008 with brand new sites and post exactly what I am doing to make build them up and make money with them. As I hope you would know it takes awhile to start making money with websites, there are no get rich quick methods that work. For that reason I will also be posting results of a website I already had built but just haven’t monetized yet. This way you can see the money coming in already so the first few weeks wont be extremely dull.
There will be one catch though with this blog. Due to posting websites and keywords I am going to use a plugin that will remove some content to unregistered members so spiders wont pick them up. Which means if you want the full effect of whats going on in my world you will need to register as a subscriber. Small price to pay for valuable information if you ask me.
Anyways, back to work.
