Well I got that lovely message as many others have. Only thing I can do is submit a request for review. From what I have been reading they have been reinstating people. If worse comes to worse Im guessing Ill just have to delete most of my sites and only keep the higher quality ones. Which wont put me back too much. Heres the email…
<>Â Dear Aaron Nimocks,
During a recent review of eBay Partner Network publisher accounts and site metrics data for clicks your account drives to eBay.com, we determined that the traffic generated from your account is significantly less engaged with the eBay site as compared to the standards set by our other affiliates. While we appreciate your efforts to drive traffic to our Advertiser sites, we do not think that it is mutually beneficial to further our business relationship at this time. As a result, we will be expiring your eBay Partner Network account in 7 days and we request that you remove all of your eBay Partner Network affiliate links by that time. Payment will take place as per the Network Agreement for any traffic driven to eBay Advertiser sites prior to the expiration date of August 27, 2008.
One of our account managers will contact you if a more appropriate business opportunity arises to work together again in the future.
Regards,
The eBay Partner Network

How were you generating traffic?
By drax on Aug 22, 2008 | Reply
Man that really sucks - you send them a pile of traffic, do you think thats the problem, thousands of clicks and a few (its relative dont be offended) sales. I’m worried now but for the opposite reason ie because I dont send many clicks but have lots of campaigns running etc. How can EBay repay someone who works hard to drive traffic to their site in this way, and I’d like to know what constitutes ‘poor traffic’. Keep up the fight man, and let us know how you get on. I feel that EBays sights are swingin on to the little guys like me now

Most of the traffic was organic. The ones that drove 75% of the sales were adwords.

That must have been a bit of a nasty surprise - my commiserations to you. Internet Marketing’s a bit like walking a mine field
So the organic traffic is no good then??
Aaron, would you mind giving a link to wherever Ebay talk about this, if you know where it is?
All the best to you sorting it out!

…another point, what constitutes ‘a higher quality site’??

Let them go. I’m about to oust them from my website because people just don’t click on them. I prefer Google adsense and those have been doing really well on my site.

Me again… I have just been looking around in the BANS forum and blog and there is some good info on the blog for starters at: http://buildanichestoreblog.blogspot.com/search/label/templates
Maybe you could use some of these alternatives, Aaron?
By Bud L on Aug 22, 2008 | Reply
Is this for real. What the %$#@ are they talking about. I cannot even get a listing in google because of program problems with the BANS software and now ebay is going to start dumping people that are working hard to send them traffic? I like adsense. let them go.
By jonasdude on Aug 26, 2008 | Reply
Aaron, they’re hitting sites that are only lists. If we look to your bans sites (and please don’t offend with this rambling), they are only listings, no value to the user at all, just a gateway to ebay. You even didn’t change the default layout or created a nice logo, etc. etc.. That kind of bans is being banned. Mix content with listings, provide some value to the user, and you’ll see your sites back to epn. However, since the last ebay changes to the sellers, i don’t see great future for this big company.

jonasdude,
I know my sites are like that but plenty of other peoples are not. So that cant be the reason.
Also not all my sites sent the same quality traffic. One site in particular sent very good traffic but still fell under the ban. Meaning they dont look at it on a site to site basis. Just the whole account

That’s a lot nicer than the similar email I received back in July:
Dear Shmoo,
Thank you for your participation in the eBay Partner Network.
After a thorough review of your account, our team has determined that your account has been generating low quality traffic as gauged by our internal measures. We wanted to bring to your attention that our team has decided to terminate your account on August 5th, 2008. We ask that you please remove your affiliate links and update your payment information within 7 days. You will not be compensated for any traffic associated with your account after that date. If your payment and tax information have been entered and your account has generated more than five units of your payment currency, your pending earnings will be paid by the next payment cycle . You are not permitted to rejoin the eBay Partner Network.
As stated in the ePN Network Agreement Section (L)(3)(i):
(3) Termination by ePN or an Advertiser
i. ePN may terminate this Agreement and your account, one of your websites, your use of a Promotional Method or your participation in a certain Program at any time for convenience in its sole discretion upon 7 days notice. An Advertiser may terminate your participation in its Program or your use of a Promotional Method at any time for convenience in its sole discretion upon 7 days notice.
Again, we thank you for your efforts and wish you the best of luck.
At this time, we are not reconsidering our decision. This is a one way email address. Please do not respond to this e-mail.
Regards,
The eBay Partner Network Quality Team

This is BS. What are they trying to do, pull a Google and “slap” everyone that they deem to be unfit to send them traffic? I’m sick of this stuff.
Google won’t even let me send traffic to my BANS stores any more, and they are not list sites, but they slapped me early in the year for my BANS sites anyway. I was spending $1000 per month or more with adwords last fall to drive traffic and they still gave those sites the ax.
It was profitable too, but at least I have an alternative with Yahoo and MSN.
I still can’t believe that Ebay would do this shi^&*&#&& to us, who are sending damn traffic their way, and they still don’t like it.
I had a few stores last month make over $800 and I was planning on ramping up with some more. Now this makes me nervous of spending time doing that.
